If you are looking for a vacation destination, here are some areas you may not have considered and may want to look into. We have picked five places from around the world, the tropical oasis to the not so common destinations.
Our first pick is Sri Lanka. This island is truly an oasis for the body and mind. You will find miles of powder sugar beaches surrounded by bamboo fields. Snorkel in the crystal clear waters, or have a cocktail poolside while lounging in a hammock. Animals roam freely, from elephants to monkeys, across this beautiful backdrop. Accommodations can range from cozy bungalows on Nilaveli Beach to the plush Thambapanni Retreat, which boasts it’s four poster beds, ayurvedic spa and yoga studies. Everything you would expect in a tropical vacation, can be found on this little island off the coast of India.
Patagonia Wine Country is our next pick. San Patricio del Chanar is nestled in the corner of this Argentine Valley masterpiece. Stunningly beautiful landscape surrounds the local wineries. Visit the two thousand acre Bodega del Fin del Mundo, which works with wine consultant Michel Rolland, achieving various international medals for their merlots, malbec and cabernets. You can choose to stay at the eighteen room resort situated in the middle of Valle Perdido winery. Visit the resorts spa for wine infused spa treatments, or walk through the winery and visually stimulating countryside. A wonderful vacation spot in Argentina and Chile.
Our third pick is specifically designed for the art and design lovers. Seoul, the capital city of Korea, is becoming widely recognized for it’s glam cafes and restaurants. Impeccable art galleries and fashion palaces, rivaling Milan. You can visit the Ann Demeulemeester store, a beautiful use of vegetation entirely covers the building and the first floor restaurant. Galas and parties are held almost ritually, including the Seoul Design Fair held in the Olympic stadium. If you are about art and fashion, forget Tokyo and Milan, visit Seoul, you wont be disappointed.
Our fourth destination is Copenhagen, Denmark, perfect for the Eco-friendly crowd. Copenhagen is predominantly traveled via bicycle, and has risen as one of the world’s greenest cities. Vast canal systems, which put you in mind of Venice, Italy run around the city. Take advantage of visiting the Osterbro public baths. Norrebro has become the edgy side of Copenhagen, where you will find the students and the hipsters in cafes and galleries, that encompass Sankt Hans Torv, the focal square of the area. A hefty show of clubs and nightlife can be found here.
The final destination pick comes from California. Los Angeles to be exact. Spattered with cultural influences, including many artsy spots. Cafes and galleries are littered around the city. Chinatown is one of the cultural inclusive areas touted by Los Angeles. Local museums host local and international contemporary art. Fashion is highly visible in Los Angeles, and many fine dining spots and small cafes are on almost every corner. High end luxury hotels are as far as the eye can see, as well as middle of the road accommodations.
No matter what type of vacation you are looking to embark upon you are sure to find that special destination in one of these locations.
I love lists like these because they give me so many vacation options that I haven’t thought of before.
