Welcome to an introduction to Canada. If you haven’t been there, here is what you have been missing. The following will give a small sample of what Canadian travel has to offer.
Collingwood, a ski town in Ontario is the home of the Blue Mountain ski resort. For those not necessarily interested in skiing, Collingwood is a quaint city. Take a stroll down Hurontario Street, and find a vast variety of unique shops, boutiques and restaurants. In the surrounding neighborhoods you will find a rich blend of turn of the century Edwardian and Victorian architecture.
Newfoundland and Labrador is the next venue. The major attractions of the area are mainly outdoors and nature. Nature lovers will enjoy the whale watching, kayaking, the scenic drives and iceberg viewing. The people of the area are extremely laid back and are genuinely hospitable. You can visit St. Johns, Trinity and Battle Harbour, all history rich cities in Newfoundland. Briqus is an hour from St. Johns and is famous for it’s blueberry festival.
The next stop is Whistler Canada. Whistler Blackcomb one of the most famous ski resorts in the world. Located two hours from Vancouver. Blackcomb is a year round resort with mountain biking, golf, hiking trails, a stunning village and spectacual vistas.
Be sure while in Canada to visit the Pacific Rim National Park at the tip of Vancouver Island. Boasts a cultural rich heritage, hiking trails, sandy beaches and the rainforest with the Aboriginal culture rich throughout.
Our last destination is Cabot Trail, Nova Scotia. 185 mile long Cabot Trail has beautiful vistas of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Atlantic and it’s simply stunning lanscapes, that are even more stunning in the fall. Cape Breton National Highlands Park in at the trail’s most northern part and is at the highest elevation. The entire trail takes a couple hours to drive, but plan to spend a day or two, shopping and dining in the towns and villages along the way.
Just about anywhere you choose to visit in Canada, proves to be beautiful. The most difficult decision you will have to make is deciding what to do first. Canada offers a wide range of entertainment and night life as well as dining options. It is conceded though that Canada is renowned for it’s scenery. Whether you plan to visit in the summer or winter, or anytime between, whether you want to snow ski or shop, you will find everything you are looking for in Canada.
Victoria, BC is one of the most beautiful cities that I have ever seen. It’s small, but perfect for a weekend getaway.
